We’re going to engage kids’ imaginations!
Kids will not only get curious about science, technology, and art — but also about the God who created it all!
They’ll hear from early church leaders like Paul, Peter, John, and Timothy, who helped the first Jesus-followers wonder...
- what made their stories unique
- what gifts God gave them (and how they could use those gifts to serve)
- what they could learn from others
- how they could spend time with God
Answers to Your Questions...
So what will Check In look like?
If you have attended Mt Carmel in the last 6 months then you will check in your child just like any other Sunday. Please go to the check in desk, print their sticker, and a teacher will take them to their appropriate class. If you have an infant or toddler then you will be able to walk them to their room. On your first Sunday ever you will need to go to the "guest check in" desk so that someone can confirm your registration info. (It goes fast)
What should I do after I check them into VBS?
There are a few options. We would LOVE for you to join our VBS parent small group. This is a group of parents that will be meeting for the month of June to hang out, share stories, and journey through "Christ Centered Parenting" together. This group will meet from 9-10, and then you can attend the regular worship story. You are also able to go sit in your car if you just need a break or sit in the lobby and have a cup of coffee. Let us know if you need any assistance in plugging in somewhere or unplugging for a bit.
How are the classes divided?
There are 5 classes on Sunday mornings grouped by age. You can find a breakdown of these groups on the kidz ministry page. Kids will stay with their groups the whole time and rotate within the kidz ministry hall.
How is this different than any other Sunday for kids?
We hope that VBS on Sunday mornings is a chance for kids with busier schedules than ever to experience VBS while also sharing in some of the great things we already do each week. In addition to worship and teaching there will be arts and crafts and a science lab. Additional volunteers will provide the opportunity for us to have more activities and bigger experiences!
What if we can't get there until 10? Or if I want my child to attend "big church" with me after Sunday School hour?
That is totally fine. Check-In will reopen at 9:45 for Kidz that are only attending the worship and teaching time of VBS. They will jump right into the groups and keep going as they go. If your child wants to attend "big church" instead of continuing VBS they will be able to be checked out at that time.
What if my family can only attend once or twice?
You can come whenever you can come. The curriculum is made to where a kid should be able to attend any week and still engage.
How should we dress?
Kids will be wearing provided aprons during arts and crafts and science experiments. The more they can move around and participate the better. Feel free to dress them as if they were attending school.
